Purchase Partners 3PL PLUS® SYSTEM integrates our Vendor Managed Inventory System with 3PL Logistics, offering a complete integrated supply solution. If you are already in a VMI with Purchase Partners, you already have realized the many benefits of Vendor Managed Inventory that streamline the procurement process, cutting fat out of procurement. On hand inventories have been significantly reduced, freeing up valuable floor space for new manufacturing processes and inventory turns have increased significantly.

How It Works!

In a VMI, your supply partner, Purchase Partners, retains ownership of the products supplied until they are delivered to your floor. Typically the average on-hand quantity is less than a two week supply v. several months or even a year supply.

In a standard 3PL relationship, a third party off premise warehousing/ distribution service warehouses your component parts until such time your sales or purchasing department contacts them to release parts to your distributors or to your floor. In a 3PL, you, the customer, must monitor current stock levels on your floor and manage the quantities and timing of inventory releases as production requirements and cycle times change continually. Typically, your 3PL processes include unloading inventory you ship to them, warehousing inventory in a secure location, and preparing shipments.

In a 3PL PLUS relationship, the best features of VMI and 3PL are combined, providing a Supply Partnership where Purchase Partners audits inventory in both the VMI as well as inventory in the 3PL, delivers inventory in the VMI and 3PL to your central stocking locations or point of use locations on the line and shifts administration and monitoring of inventory owned by you, the customer, to Purchase Partners.
